  • Many site developers do not give a thought to accessibility to blind or visually impaired users when building sites for companies, and it is refreshing to find one that does. I express my deepest appreciation for this.

Blogs

Blog is short for weblog.

A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site.

Blogs used to be associated with people who just wanted an opportunity to have their views read by the larger web audience. No more. Latest research shows that business blogging is exploding.

Blogs can help grow your business in a changing world by reaching out to the "Millennials" –those born between 1980 and 2000 whose numbers are nearly as large as the Baby Boom generation. They are your next generation of customers and they do not respond to traditional forms of marketing and advertising. Here are five reasons why blogging can work for your business.

Gives Your Business a Voice and a Personality
Do you really know what the leader of the company you do business with is thinking? What they go through? What is important to them? What type of person they are? Do you usually have the ability to tap into their expertise? What's going on in the company? More often than not you never get this type of insight.

Comment Consolidation
If one of your readers has a question, chances are others have it too. What better way to answer it than in one place where everyone can see and hopefully benefit.

Customer Interaction
You don’t have to have all the answers, but it says a lot about a company who will make themselves available to their customers.

Traffic Driver
Blogs are just one more method to help drive traffic to your site. They can drive traffic from the search engines and get picked up by other blogs that find the posts interesting.

RSS Feeds
Some people like to get their information with RSS feeds. It's easy with a blog, they'll sign up for your feed and get it real-time right in their reader.
